Here's my official answer to, "what size are your Sisterlocks?"

Hi Blaq, I love your blog. And can I just say, you're beautiful, inside and out. My Sisterlocks are being installed the last weekend in March. I'm very excited. I've read so many blogs that I can't remember certain details, but my loctician told me today she will be placing a variety of sizes of sisterlocks. Small up front to increase my styling options and then a combo of large and medium in other areas. I would like my locs to be about your size. Thus, would you be kind enough to tell me the size of your locs or send me the link to the page of your blog where you discuss this?

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and your kind words. I appreciate each and every one.
You won't find an area of my blog that talks about the size of my locks because I have a hard time explaining it. I called my consultant this morning to ensure I give you accurate information. When I locked my consultant informed me how she was going to install my locks. I didn't have to make a decision. I simply trusted her.
Sisterlocks official training teaches consultants to install small locks in the front along the hairline and begin to get slightly larger through the crown and the back of the head. These are called "traditional" Sisterlocks. That's how my locks were installed. I think people begin to panic when they hear "larger in the back." But if your consultant's good, the size change is gradual giving your locks a uniform look. That's why the SL parting is so important and will determine how your locks "lay."
In summary, what your loctician told you was correct. I hope this helps some. You might want to ask your consultant for photos of her work. Also, check out my post below "21 Months -Wearing My Testimony" and the retightening photos. Compare the hairline and back of the head shots....you really can't see any noticeable difference in the lock size. Another benefit of using a certified consultant, IMHO.
I'm so excited that you have decided to cross over. You won't regret it and it will be the happiest time of your life.
Thanks Tis Safiya for permission to post your question. Welcome home to Sisterlocks. I'm looking forward to checking out your blog and watching your progress.
