What Size Are Your Locks?

I'm often asked by those considering or about to lock, "what size are your Sisterlocks?" I'm always hesitant to answer that question, because it's somewhat difficult to explain.




Here's my official answer to, "what size are your Sisterlocks?"

I've read so many blogs that I can't remember certain details, but my loctician told me today she will be placing a variety of sizes of sisterlocks. You won't find an area of my blog that talks about the size of my locks because I have a hard time explaining it. I called my consultant this morning to ensure I give you accurate information. When I locked my consultant informed me how she was going to install my locks. I didn't have to make a decision. I simply trusted her.

Sisterlocks official training teaches consultants to install small locks in the front along the hairline and begin to get slightly larger through the crown and the back of the head. These are called "traditional" Sisterlocks. That's how my locks were installed. I think people begin to panic when they hear "larger in the back." But if your consultant's good, the size change is gradual giving your locks a uniform look. That's why the SL parting is so important and will determine how your locks "lay."

In summary, what your loctician told you was correct. I hope this helps some. You might want to ask your consultant for photos of her work. Also, check out my post below "21 Months -Wearing My Testimony" and the retightening photos. Compare the hairline and back of the head shots....you really can't see any noticeable difference in the lock size. Another benefit of using a certified consultant, IMHO.
