Curosa's Everyday?

Sister-In-Locks said,

Looking lovely as always. I love the Caruso curlers also. I find myself swinging and flinging my hair when I use them. Is it alright to use them everyday?

Great question. I know someone has an opinion if not a proven answer. Plez enlighten us...

IMHO I would think the steam is good for our locks.

Post Script: I've received several questions regarding the color of my hair. I haven't added color in 10 months (one week before locking). The lighting in this photo is a reddish tint and gives the appearance of more color than is actually there. I took this photo myself. (The ex is still acting like the ex or maybe he's acting like the husband which is why he's the ex! hehe)

This is an absolutely beautiful photo of your hair. I don't see any reason why the Carusos would be bad for your hair, its only steam. Steam is simply moisture so I think it's a good thing.

Just be sure that you don't over manipulate your hair. Throw a few freestyles into the mix and you'll be just fine.

Take care,

An opinion...oh yeah. My golden rule of thumb is,"too much of a good thang ain't good." Moderation is key. Besides Blaq, you owe us at least one freestyle pic. But as long as your hair doesn't start to break, thin or get dry, induldge I say. We all have our own inner clocks that tell us when enough is enough.

My thoughts are steam is a good thing. The daily application of heat maybe not so good. I am interested in hearing what the pros say.

Are you still getting color?

IM..I think the Caruso's are OK for daily use. As long as you aren't stretching your locks around the rollers you should be fine. Did you put the color in? Your hair looks great.

I'm with Renea. How can moisture not be a good thing? Our locks are so small, there's little chance of mildew, you're not using product (as far as I know), and Caruso's aren't that hot ... says the chemsit who used to clamp her curling iron around a meat thermometer to make sure it was less than the burning point of hair - 155 degrees? -- it's been so long, I don't remember. In any case, T(Caruso rollers) << T(curling iron).

Beautiful pic of your locks! I think I have to go with Tanya on this one. Too much of a good thing.... Mix it up a little or try every other day. Every style I've seen you do has been so lovely and flattering!

Blaqkofi, I'm with Leighann and Tanya do the mix up thing. You know I'm a hugh fan of the Caruso's but I notice a difference in my locks when I use them every day or even every other day.

My locks actually get looser and the lock is not as tight as it is after my wash. So, I'm sure the heat and steam has some kind of impact on the locks. Now, I'm down to about twice a week and sponge roll in between.

Ladies, thanks so much for all of the good advice. It's much appreciated it. It's so nice not to have to go through trial and error. Sisterlocks & Sisterhood...that's what I'm talkin' 'bout...
