2007 Wishes

Happy New Year everyone! My prayer is that 2007 will bring many blessings to you and your loved ones. I pray that you find your goals, wishes and dreams in closer proximity and that you remain natural, locked and most of all happy!

You may have seen the following, but I gift it to you all as this new year begins...

Peace & Blessings,
BlaqKofi

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby or another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said, "for a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no easy way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink, until you've sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching.

Blaqkofi,

Just wanted to say I love your blog because you not only give great tips about Sisterlocks (e.g. shampoos, hair products, etc), but your many times your posts inspire me. I stay very busy and don't spend a lot of time on the internet, but when I do, I make sure I visit your blog. I love it! Keep up the inspiring & informative posts!

Your hair is beautiful and growing so well!

Blaqkofi,
How did you know? Just how did you know that I would come across this on a day that I needed it sooooooooooo much. This very quote or passage has blessed me in ways that only God knew that it would. Thank you so much for posting it. Wow -- that's literally all I can say right now.
Thank you so much.

Ms. J. God blesses us so that we can bless others. I'm glad that I can be used as his vessel, even unknowingly. Thanks so much for sharing.

Well BlaqKofi,

I am making progress, this is where I am now in your blog (remember I am reading it from beginning to the end). Mainly because I don't want to ask questions that you already answered at sometime during your journey.

By reading your blog from beginning to end, I am learning so much.

Summary--(1) Wheatgerm recipe, (2) Positive sisterhood (I loved the way you explain how it feels to blog and get responses, I also luv how you kept the whole vibe POSITIVE), (3) I get to see God work through a woman who is willing to be used by HIM to show the freedom and happiness in being naturally as God created us to be-- especially Sisterlocks™. --this is the BEST feature about your BLOG. (4) I love how you share the beauty of your relationship with GIGI and how wonderful she is, this explains why she is considered the BEST in our area of the world. (5) I love the beautiful artwork clips you included in your blog, there is such depth and detail. (6) You share tools to use to make our blogs more improved and user friendly (7) The photos, are the second BEST feature--it adds a visual to the whole Sisterlock™ journey. (8) Thanks for teaching us about Queen Hatshepsut-- I read this book called "The Destruction of Black Civilizition" By Chancellor Williams. There I learned about a Queen from the 19th dynasty named Nefertari or Nefertertari ??? (Not Nefertiti !!!). One day I will blog about her at my site RJQueen10. (9) How well groomed and professional Sisterlocks™ are (10) Your sense of family is beautiful, you have two handsome sons, a friendly relationship with you ex-husband, then there is your mother and your aunt, your neice, and there is the closeness of the relationship with your sister as she fights cancer, I think you even shared your bestfriend with us (by the way--she IS taller than you on that photo--).

I am enjoying your Natural Awakenings. I feel like I have been in a daze up until this point in my life. I feel like I am finally learning how to breath...deeply. I am learning how to inhale deeply through my nostrils and exhale fully through my mouth as my chest completely expands open. Whew! The stress and tension is just... melting... away...aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH! (repeat 9 more times)
