Blaq Meets Dr. Cornwell

Hello ladies. I know you've probably been wondering - wuz up wid Blaq? I have coordinated two back-to-back conferences on two consecutive weekends and I am ab-so-lute-ly exhausted! I'm taking just a moment this Sunday afternoon to post this pic of Dr. Cornwell and I at the recent DFW Gathering before I try to grab some much needed rest.

I have lots of thoughts and pics to share. So look for new posts soon. In the meantime, keep lifting each other and stay natural!

How awesome!!! I met Dr. Cornwell at San Diego State University a few years ago when I had just got my locks, she was very down-to-earth, and invited me to come to her office anytime and talk to her; she is actually a full time professor there, she is truly an inspiration.

I am a newbie to the sisterlock family and I want to thank you for sharing your experience. Reading your blog and seeing your journey through pictures helped me a great deal in making my decision to get sisterlocks. It has also helped me know what to expect over the next few months. Know you are inspring a lot of women through your own journey!

Char, Still, CV and Dee thanks for the encouraging words of support. Always a blessing.

Muslimahlocs, I truly appreciate your kindness to my sis. As you could tell, she is a vivaciouos woman who never met a stranger and she remains beautiful despite her cancer and hair loss. Your kind words mean a lot.

Elizabeth, welcome to the natural world of SL. I'm glad I could contribute a small amount to your journey. Your kind words are a blessing and motivate me to continue documenting my journey because I'm finding that it's much deeper than the external...

Blaq,

I completely forgot, that I read a little while back on your blog spot that your sister whom I call Ms. T #1 on my blog spot last week when I was talking about my interpretation of the Meet and Greet is battling the symptoms of cancer. She does not even act like a person who has been diagnosed with cancer. She has energy, she is a person that is instantly likable. I thought she was wearing her hair short just because she is sassy, confident and plain wanted to. Before I even knew she was your sister, I was walking around the room taking photos of people who would allow me. I asked permission first.

Well, I asked Ms. T#1 could I take her photo and it was something about the way she smiled. It is such a beautiful smile, that I commented out loud to her how lovely her smile is. That should have clued me in that she was your sister. When she told me she was your sister, I was not extremely surprised and I instantly thought to myself how that was one of the major qualitities about YOU that I admire.

Now that I know she is your sister and I remember your sister was diagnosed with cancer, because if she is a Christian like you are and I am, by the Jesus we know. Ms T #1 is HEALED already! Like I was saying, now that I remember... I think God is awesome by placing also Ms. T#2 in my path that same day and allowing her to share her Testimony with me.

At our next DFW gathering if both Ms. Ts are present are am going to introduce them two to each other. I will also introduce you as well. I believe you can be tremendous support to each other as your sisters continue to conquer the symptoms of cancer.

I love ya, keep your head up, and I can't wait to read a new blog from ya! I will check back here next Sunday to see if ya have anything new! God willing, of course!
