So This is What Professional Color Looks Like

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I had my locs professionally colored for the first time. There is a vast difference - at least in my eyes - I don't have those "missed" spots of darker hair here and there...LOL! The hairline looks so much nicer and more natural. I guess I need a little professional help now. We were also preparing my hair for highlights in a couple of weeks. The colorist used this wonderful shampoo and conditioner that my locks really seemed to respond well to and the scent was heavenly. I plan to go back and purchase some. You know I'll be sure and give you all the low down.

Gigi is not a big proponent of color and doesn't apply it. However, she did recommend someone, the same colorist who did Sister-In-Locks highlights. I've always admired her highlighted locs and love featuring her beautiful pics after a gathering. TRA has some funky, slammin' highlights as well. Check her out here. The beauty of Sisterlocks, they're so uniquely you.

Check back soon for post and lots of pics of my new highlights. I'm anxious for your feedback. And mom's crossing over photos! She was officially locked Friday, June 15, 2007 by Gigi, perhaps Gigi's last new client, at least for a while. Her calendar's full with her present lock clients and she is doing more personal and life skills coaching (Visit her site here). On top of that she begins as a health and wellness coach on a local talk radio show this Saturday. Because of her busy schedule she is unable to accept more new clients. We have to get some more people certified in the DFW! If only I enjoyed doing hair.

Your locks are so lock-a-licious, especially in the sunlight! You are very correct about the thickness and density of our hair. Genetically I have both and after a fresh retightening, you can barely see my scalp. My consultant said that I would have a full head of hair growing outward, not just straight down, which I don't mind. I'm a fan of big hair & volume anyway.

You are right about more consultants in the DFW area. I tried to get Gigi to install mine, but ur right about her not being able to take new clientelle. She does marvelous work.
