I Like 'Em Afterall

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I've finally begun to enjoy my highlights and "own" them now that the tones are softer. I got lots of compliments at church today, one in particular from my sister, Gladys; who recently became conscious of Sisterlocks once mom got them otherwise it was just something new that Blaq was tryin'.
Mom made an uncharacteristiclly bold and brave step and I'm so proud her! When we're together people can see what is and what is to be - a powerful testimony to Sisterlocks and natural freedom.
Harriett Tubman said, while being interviewed about freeing one thousand of the enslaved...
"I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves. "

Might the same hold true for our Natural Awakenings?

Yesterday, after checking your blog and not finding a new post, I had to ask myself, why I read “Sisterlocks-Natural Awakenings” so faithfully! I want to share my musing with you. The main reasons why I frequent your blog so consistently is that, although your blog is about you, it is not ALL about you. Your blog is not just about YOUR sisterlock journey, but it is about OUR sisterlock journey. You consistently share how you achieve your style, so that sisters (like me) can get some ideas and experiment to achieve a different look! There are always relevant tidbits about the locking process that sisters with younger locks can anticipate or prepare for (like the open and closed locks even after 25 months!). Most importantly, you share the limelight with other sisters (Ms P., Gigi, Sister-in-Locks etc. etc.) I commend you! I rate you highly, and I’ll continue to read your blog until our locks are long and gray! :-)

I appreciate you girlie - sincerely. It does my heart good to read a comment like that and motivates me to keep on bloggin...thanks for sharing the love!
