Lock It Up

Crossing over to Sisterlocks® is a major life decision and I needed help, guidance and support. During my research I stumbled upon the Yahoo Lock It Up Group, a forum established by none other than my inspiration, Sandy for Sisterlocks® wearers, natural hair advocates or those interested in transitioning.

The Lock It Up Group has been one of the most helpful tools I found - where I truly became educated, not only about the Sisterlocks® transition, but the abundant and growing number of those proudly sportin' their natural crowns...another awakening along this journey.

The group has about 1,400 members worldwide and was created to provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas and information regarding Sisterlocks®. Members ask questions, provide answers, give tips and share their experiences regarding their transition to natural hair, and the care and maintenance of Sisterlocks®. It's never boring and always interesting reading even if you never participate in the dialogue. But most of all I find like minds full of encouragement.

The group is not limited to the discussion of Sisterlocks®. Other natural Black hair care topics are also welcome, but the main focus is on Sisterlocks® Brotherlocks®.

This is not an "official" Sisterlocks® affiliate site. It was started out of a love for Sisterlocks® and the desire to share with others.

Well now you have the background of how my personal Sisterlocks® journey began. I plan to make monthly updates with photos so be sure and visit often, check out the Archives and Previous Post sections, share my site with your friends who may want to cross over and come back home. And the journey continues....

Your locks are beautiful! I can't to wait to see how much more beautiful they will become. I also started my Sisterlocks journey on May 26th. It is so invigorating to see our sisters looking so good, standing tall as queens! God bless you, and I look forward to seeing more of you. In the meantime, I have a few pics on the Yahoo Lock it Up board, under jasminflowa. I will be updating in a month or so.

Much peace and love,

Nita

I, too, was inspired by Sandi and the Lockitup group. In doing my research I stumbled upon Sandi's website and that's what made me go ahead with getting SLs. This journey is so wonderful. I can't wait to see what our hair looks like this time next year.
